Darfield Golden Wedding

Mr and Mrs James Longden, of 61 School Street, Darfield, celebrated their golden wedding anniversary on Sunday.

They were married at the Darfield Parish Church. Both enjoy fairly good health.

There were family of three sons and five daughters, and there are 17 grandchildren.

Mr Longden worked for 61 years in the coal mines and for 47 years was employed at Houghton Main Colliery, where he received an accident his foot about two years ago, which has made him unable to work again
