The wedding took place at Wombwell Parish Church, on Saturday, of Miss Edith Alice Pearce younger daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Pearce, of 13, Collindridge Road, Wombwell to Aircraftman Thomas Ernest Bisby, son of Mr. and Mrs. Walter Blew, of West Street, Darfield.

The service was conducted by Canon J. St. Leger Blakeney, and the bride was given away by her father. The bride wore a white satin gown with veil and coronet of roses. Her bouquet was of pink carnations. There was a matron of honour, Mrs. Isabel Shaw, in pink satin, two bridesmaids, Misses Hilda and Doreen Bixby, in pink silk and a small attendant, June Shaw, niece of the bride, in a blue silk flowered dress with wreath of violets.

Best man was Mr. Sydney Pearce and groomsman, Mr. Charles Wilkinson of Darfield.
