Goldthorpe – Gale-Wyatt

Cricketers and footballers from a wide area were present at Darfield Parish Church on Saturday, for the marriage of Mr. James W. Gale, youngest son of Mr. and Mrs. Gale, 146, Doncaster Road, Darfield, and Miss Mona A. Wyatt, 8, Springwell Road, Bailey, Doncaster.

Mr. Gale plays cricket for Barnsley, and last season as a goalkeeper had trials with several first-class clubs.

The bride, who was given away by Mr. F. Fisher, wore silver-gray satin with veil and shoes to match. She carried a bouquet of roses.

She was attended by Misses Cissie and Margaret Gale, in dresses of peach. Miss Margaret, with white picture hats. Misses Clement and Miss Annie Hopkins in green floral georgette with picture hats, and Miss Margaret Clements and Miss Margaret Turner in powder-blue organdie and net caps with wreaths of forget-me-nots. The first four bridesmaids carried variegated sweet peas and the last two Victorian posies.

Mr. Arthur Gale acted as best man and the groomsmen were Messrs. G. Smith and R. Barnes. The Rev. H. Sigel officiated.
